Republic of the united Netherlands is among the first countries to bring this up through Dutch construction company VolkerWessels. They are out to pave their roads with recycled plastic waste! This is going to replace asphalt which is very harmful to the environment. It is claimed to emit 1.45 million tonnes of carbon dioxide.
The proposed technology is foreseen to be hollow and light creating space for cables and pipes as well as ability to survive low and high temperatures.
The advantages of this proposed project include reduction in carbon emissions, ecofriendly, reducing plastic waste, less implementation and maintenance costs on road construction.
